Default Stuff Two Focus Sports in a 4Runner ??

Without going the trailer route, yet, my '08 4Runner, with the seat's folded down, only 73" to back door. I am going to put another Focus Sport together, from end of rudder to tip of spinner, 77", with no wiggle room. I can take the spinner off, get a couple more, this doesn't solve the squeeze factor. I haven't hauled the one I have built yet.
Is anyone hauling two planes this size in their SUV ? Build rack's up, to get the tail area up ? The wing's are a no-brainer. Any picture's or info appreciated. Correction: Rudder tip to tip of spinner: 71". Re-post below.

I can get two full sized and one .90 sized pattern planes in my old Civic hatch back!<div>Front passenger and both back seats folded down. Spinners butt up against the dash board. Rudders deflected over.
<div>Plus... flight box, tool box, spares box, tranny case, fuel... and in the old days, my golden retriever!
What's the problem? Just cram 'em in.[8D]</div></div>

Central Hobbies lists the Focus Sport length as 72". The Focus II is listed as 78.

The Focus Sport shouldnt be that long. Most full blown 2 meter ships are only 77 1/2 -78". Although I notice you are running an exceptionally long spinner in the picture. I know guys that carry 2 full 2M planes in a Ford Explorer so I would think 2 1.10 size planes shouldn't be any problem at all,

OK. Arch, the Focus picture is the Piedmont ad, my picture attached here. From the base area of the rudder, to the tip of the spinner, 71", give or take a hair. I have six handle's on the 4Runner, to hang straps, or cradle's. Looks like tail to nose on each.
I will have to try it, do some measuring. Desire overcome's ability, every time. If two 2-meter planes can get in an Explorer, then this should be easy to accomplish. I can always take the passenger seat out, make a lot of room that way. I said 77" in first post, not correct, take the spinner off for travel, all fine. Thanks for the comment's.

Shoulda got a Matrix, or it's GM clone Pontiac Vibe. (The interiors are dead on identical.) The front passenger seat folds all the way down and I get 83" clear space. My '03 Vibe has 130k mi some of which were put on carrying two Hydeouts.

G.M. management, in their well demonstrated wisdom, killed one of their most critically acclaimed models, rather than calling it the Chevy Vibe and moving on. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ibe/index.html

I can carry two 2 meter planes in my Acura MDX plus tool boes, Tx case, 4 gals of fuel, starting platform, foam stand and overnight bags without any problem. In addition, the second roll bench seats of the MDX are not even completely flat when folded down. And, if I pack them correctly, I should be able to squeez a front passenge in.

If I take off the stabs on both planes, I can probably carry one more 110 size plane. Therefore, your 4Runner should not have any problem carrying two Focus Sports.

I've been carrying a Venus II with all my contest equipment, including our canopy, my caller and her clothes in a 2009 Subie Forester without much trouble, and I think it's about the size of a Focus Sport. The Forester looks smaller than the 4Runner.
Next season I'm doing the same with a Focus II, but the nose of the plane will have to rest between the front seats.

Riot and Strat - Thanks for the info. Necessity is the Mother of Invention. Maybe I jumped the gun here, should have done some measuring and fitting first.
