And the key is the weight of the wing panels<g>. Any E-plane with finished wing panels over 16 ozs will struggle to make weight.

Wonder if Dereks E-Neptuno will make weight?<g> It'll be close, I bet.
I think I'll make it easily... right now I'm at 2728 without the motor/prop/batteries. The Hacker weighs 579g, batteries around 1230 - 1300g and prop/adapter is 150g. Estimated total weight is 4687. I think I'll come in around 4800g - either just under or just over.

Derek,

Are you running the 5300's? All of my 5300's are about 1175g. I'm not going to run 5300's though. I think I'm going to the 30C and I will also try the 45C 4400's..

Yes they do.
That's quite likely the reason they don't make or appear to make as much power. Some of the potential is burned up overcoming internal stuff. As always, it turns up as heat

Hope you are right on the weights. They must of done a good job on the weight of the fuse and tail surfaces then and of course you are using an inrunner. It's just been my general observation that it becomes a close call with weight when the finished wing panels are 16 or so ounces.

Chris,

I've got a mish-mash of packs... I've got FP 5350's, Rhino 4900 and Poweredge 5000's. The heaviest are the PowerEdge at around 1300. The lightest are the FP's at around 1180 or so. When I get some time I'll probably end up getting some TPs for competition... the others I'll use for practice.

D.
