Going to be spending a fair (50%+) of my time in Monterey CA. I know there is a fair (OK a lot) of pattern activity withing easy distance of Monterey but I could use some enlightenment on field locations and shops in the vicinity. I'll probably be flying only on the weekends and most like a 50 sized e-power plane due to transportation and storage constraints. My 2X ships will remain near Nashville. Any and all suggestions regarding fields, airframes, e-power setups would be greatly appreciated 4000 6s Axi 4130 maybe an EFilte90 don't know the equivalent Hacker or Skorpion - would be my first uneducated guess. Maybe a Groovy 50 F3A (had one with a Magnum 52) would be one of my airframe choices (plug in wings are a must). Seb 50 looks good but are they available?
Long time lurker - seldom poster (BTW - Tony F. and Jerry B. I'm born and raised in the AV and Mom still lives in Q.H. and will be in that area some weekends for flying).
TNWalker - I know I know I know - circumstances dictate........
Cheers and thanks,

Mike,
You'll have a choice of a couple of fields to fly at with pattern activity... the 1st (and closest to Monterey) is Hollister (Wavemasters is the club). The 2nd one and about 20+ minutes away further up the 101 is Tomcats (SCCMAS). Tomcats has at least 6 or 7 pattern pilots flying actively and Hollister has several.
Contact Jon Carter for Hollister - he can give you more information about the club and flying... he can also help you out with Tomcats as well.

Mike - Welcome! Derek is correct, the Wavemasters field in Hollister is not too far away from Monterey and we have a group of pattern guys that fly out there on Sundays. Saturdays the group usually flys at Tomcats field in Morgan Hill. When are you going to be out here? PM me for more info.
Thanks
