As most of you know we have been concentrating hard on E pattern airplanes. However we have not written off the glow models by any means. The Passport 2010 has been designed for both and is still a state of the art model. Ron Barr has just received his and this is what he had to say
Chip, Marcelo
I received the PassPort this morning and have only had a few moments after work to look at it..... I have to tell you I am truly amazed at the quality of the airplane. The fit and finish is perfect, the color scheme exactly like I wanted it..... and it is really very pretty while still being visable for flying.. the covers for the fuselage are beautiful with the CA model embroidary..... it feels light weight with the balsa sandwich construction ( I will be weighing everything later).... Overall this is an incredible airplane. !!!!!! As you may recall I have an Oxai Aries airplane that I bought second hand from Brett Wickizer after an infortunate incident last year with my Integral (Chip was there when it happened). In comparison the PassPort is finished equally as well (maybe better), the color scheme is much better, and I am willing to bet it will out fly the Aries with its lower weight and design characteristics.
I want to thank both of your sincerely for helping me with this model. It exceeds all of my expectations. I really appreciate what CA Models is doing. Obviously I can't be happier with the outcome... I just wish I had done this sooner.
I hope Ron doesn't mind but you need to understand after all the hours we have put in comments like this make it all worth while.

Here are some pics of Dave Stodarts glow version of the Passport. There are a few CA Models planes at our field. Genesis, couple of Osmose and Osmose Evo's (one is in the works, other is flying). The battery has since been moved to right in front of the gear plate and it really changed the plane. It flies really well at the current CG (don't know where it is though).

I have been working on the PassPort from CA Models over the past week and have quite a bit done. Shown below are the pictures provided by Marcelo and Chip during the manufacturing stage and during painting while at the CA paint shop. They did a marvelous job.

The following photos show the airplane after it was unpacked from the wooden shipping crate. Everything arrived safely with no damages or scratches due to careful packing and a study box.. The model had a complete padded cover with gorgeous embroidery on the fuselage and both wing panels.

Attached pictures showing the paint scheme, wing covering and some assembly. The paint is truly amazing. It has a flawless mirror finish that has obviously been polished to perfection,.. The canopy is mounted and the chin cowl is also mounted at the factory. The wing tube, stab tube, landing gear and are all carbon fiber. Wing adjusters are provided and all the holes are drilled.
I have fire wall mounted, the Hyde LR-85 engine mount in place and the nose ring installed. I have the Futaba 9650 servos in both stabs and Futaba 9150 in both wings. My OS200S-FI engine is ready for installation with Hatori header and pipe provided by OS.
Overall the quality of the kit is first class in every way.

More Photos.... The Horizontal stab has anhedral. I chose the normal rudder (no split rudder option). Also provided are aluminum control horns for all the surfaces.
The following are the weights of the parts.
L wing panel /aileron 357 gr 12.6 oz
R. Wing Pane / aileron 354 gr 12.5 oz
L stab 93 gr 3.3 oz
R Stab 86.7 gr 3.1 oz
Rudder 77.9 gr 2.75 oz
Fuselage (no cowl, canopy) 981 gr 34.6 oz including all the reinforcements, bottom floor, carbon fibre front end
Cowl 95 gr 3.3 oz
Canopy 124 gr 4.3 oz
CF landing gear (Both) 124 gr 4.3 oz
wheel pants (both) 19 gr 0.7 oz
Wing tube 58.3 gr 1.99 oz
Stab tube 9.5 gr 0.3 oz
Wheels (2) 14.4 gr 0.51 oz
Side force generators at wing tips (both) 27 gr 0.95 oz
The wings and stabs are very very light. I will definitely used the SFGs on the wings. CA provided a very light weight fiberglass balsa faced firewall that I chose to replace with Fiberglass faced lite ply. Since I am running the OS200S-FI engine I needed the strength compared to the normal electric firewall design.
Overall it is coming together quickly and I have found no issues. The fit and finish are flawless. No projected final weight but I think it is going to be light.

I finished the airframe over the weekend. Motor mount is Hyde LR-85. OS200S-FI engine with Hatori pipe and Header for OS. Futaba 14Mz FASST radio.
I made 5 flights on Sunday. Flight 1 was a trimming exercise.... no need to mix during initial flight. Flights 2-5 were flying the FAI Prelim and Finals patterns. Flight characteristics are excellent... neutral on all axis... stable .... definitely the one of best airplane I have flown. Easier to fly than my Aries.
Quality of the airframe is outstanding. Wings came in at 15.1 oz ready to fly with Futaba 9150 servos and the SFGs.
Thanks to Marcelo and CA models for an outstanding model... Thanks to Chip for convincing me to go for a Ready-to-Fly airplane.... I could not have built as good an airplane.
