I have tested my Axiome and conducted already 15 flights where first 7 flights were of 15 minutes each for Motor break-in.
First 7 Flights were horizontal 8's with throttle at 2 clicks open. No climbs no fancy stuff. Fuel is normal 30% Heli and Prop APC 19X11.
Overall the YS170 CDI runs very well and coo like a pigeon. The next flights were calibrations. I immediately notices that I need to forget all I new about the rudder. Rate needs to go down to 20% with 0 expo. Only then I started to understand the effect of the rear-drawing wings and the top wings.
After many years of using JR9411SA on the Ailerons I have shifted to Savox. It just SO MUCH BETTER. The Savox ailerons servos are so fast, precise and responsive that I should have switched to it much earlier. Rolls, part rolls etc is a different ball game now.
- CG is 190mm and it is good position.
- 2 LiPO packs of TP 1320mah
- PowerBox Sensor as double-regulator-switch and bi-directional backup
- Final weight 1930 grams
Down sides:
1- Oxai Ailerons horns are a joke and not suitable for the job.
2- The Rear H.Stab supporting pipes needs to be glued into their guides otherwise tolerance will be developed at no time.
3- The Oxai silk covers are very nice visually but practically do not worse nothing because they are very thin. Try CoverMe products you will note the
different immediately
4- Oxai use to send a set of scheme colors to in order make corrections and touch-ups if needed. I did not get one. :-(

Hiya..Your plane looks Awesome!!
Where do you get your hardware??
Specifically:
Your black fuel dots??
The clevis and attaching hardware on your rudder system (rudder end)??
Bellypan latch (white button thingy)??
Are those MK pushrods on your ailerons??
Sorry for the dumb questions but I like the looks of some of that hardware... [8D]
Thanks..

Hello,
After having numerous F3A machines were last 3 of them are CPLRs and after 55 flight of the new one and after long calibration process....
Yes calibrating this machine is little tricky and you better have on field the trimming articles of Goldsmith and Hebert (thnk you guys!!!!)
and most important do not get lazy nor compromized.... I have to state that the Axiome GP is the best F3A machine I ever had.
It flys so good that it is hard to belive. its tracking..., its rolls... its snaprolls... my god!

I am using a Hyde mount.
Moreover, I must praise Mr. Merele Hyde for his support!!!
During the calibration process I was not satisfied with the performance of the LR85.
Mr. Hyde has sent me differant verious of LR mounts to test on this ship.
I will publish the report after finishing the test. I still have one more Hyde mount version to test.

YS mount is fine! Still:
1) The Hyde solution is lighter by about 20 grams then the YS.
2) It is less maintenance and less moving components.
3) Many users I have consulted with I found that general thinking is that it is more reliable.
4) My personal experience with Hyde mount for many years is 0 defects.
5) Despite their long relations with YS, CPLR and BPLR are using Hyde on their machines
so I say "What is good for the Messiah is good for the Donkey"...

Yes, It is just velcored. However, it is a heady duty one.
Thus, it is so strong that extra precausion is taken when removing it otherwise the fuse might get demanded.
JP: The contact I made to Merele Hyde was via Tony Stilman at Radio south.

Amram, I would really be interested to hear what kind of incidences you are now running on the wings, stabilizers and the canalizer.
thanks,
Volkert

! Then we can talk about 4 stroke motors and T-canalisers.
