2010 US Nats... share YOUR story
It's that time of year to start making final preps for the US Nationals... so share YOUR story??? Update is as you go... post pics or just stories, lets have some fun with this.
I just picked up the van from dad and will be loading it between now and Friday's departure for NC for some more practice. I'll be packing both my Envisions, my Valiant (will be available to anyone needing it in an emergency if I don't need it. Only thing you need is a motor {maybe}, controller and 14MZ/FASST) and some stuff to sell (and an Extra that was sold).
Here are some links to keep track of the Nats (if anyone is doing a blog, let me know and I'll post the link here):

Here's one for you JAS.
Just as you think you have your #1 ready to go for the Nats, you bump an elevator half and strip a servo gear. Gears replaced ready to be installed back in the stab tonight. Guess I go out this evening and give #2 a going over and make sure it is trimmed and ready to go. Just gotta make sure I don't bump an elevator bringing it in and out of the house.

I've just finished 2 planes (brand new) for the Nats.... I've flown the one about 20 times and the other will maiden this weekend when I go practice with Tony Frackowiak. The hazards of losing 2 planes in 2 weeks (1 month before the Nats) due to stupidity (on one) and a stab failure on the other. Hey... it's only flying so what the heck...

Well Brett/AC, hate to break it to you... I'm not the one to beat this year, sorry. Too much going on in life. If I make the team, I'll be a happy camper.
Ryan... I'll be with Kevin so I'm not sure where we're going. I was planning on leaving tomorrow, but I stripped one of my mounting holes in my Pletty so I was only able to make one flight on my New Envision. (Thank you to Chris Moon/F3A Unlimited for getting me out a mount so fast to replace my stripped one) Tomorrow I'm going to go back out and try again, and also practice with Marcio. Hope to be there Saturday night if tomorrow isn't a waste like today was.
Joe... just keep the planes out of the tire And ALWAYS be ready to pick up your back up and put in a winning round. If you can't... why bother with having a back-up at all?
Frank... yea things are a bit different. I at least got him to take out the babies seats...lol.
Derek... I hope your luck changes!!!

RE: 2010 US Nats... share YOUR story
Well the trip up here was pretty good. Got on the road late but I think I packed everything needed. Made it here to NC by 1:30am, so 7 hours isn't bad. Hit some rain at the start ad some in GA, but was clear the rest of the way.
This morning though brought a neighbor to the door. Everyone here went to work and I was left to sleep, but I heard someone at the door knocking. At first I thought it was UPS with my spinners, but it was some lady without a package. So I decided it wasn't for me. Long story short, her husband backed into the van this morning on his way to work. No one or things were hurt, other than the door.
