Not exactly.
I want to see his unique flying style in order to compare his flying to the other top pilots.
Seeing him flying his new toxylen would be great though! Two birds with one stone!

This raises a good topic for another thread. You can hardly accuse event organisers of marketing F3A in any way shape or form. When you see the official website for major events pop up with all the instructions and entry details it looks promising, then the website seems to go dead when the comp starts and you feel lucky if they bother to post the final results.
It's hardly a professional sport in Australia and for the most parts it's all volunteers doing the best job they can but when you hold a major event (for Australia at least) like the Masters and don't even post the results on the Pattern associations national website where the event is it a bit sad (the old entry forms were still up there though). The new tends to leak out through the state websites and personal blogs. I really don't know how they get any sponsership for events at all.

If there are no videos there will be very few pattern fliers.. how will the new pilots get encouraged & learn I see hardly any pattern competition videos even if i am willing to buy it.

Ever tried to film F3A?
Most of the time you're lucky if you get a dot wobbling about the screen with no background reference. It hardly makes good subject matter, so from a filmography perspective it's very hard to make it look presentable.
Picture in picture with a fixed wide angle inset for reference would be visually appealing.
I agree though, do a youtube search for F3A and you'll get plenty of foamy's doing 3D.......

I have 2006 European championship videos of CPLR & BPLR & the videos are excellent shot by a professional video camera & not a spectator..... if you want videos can be made..

No doubt it would add many thousands of dollars to have a professional outfit film such an event or parts of it, and post production time isn't cheap either and I doubt it would turn a profit but the promotional value surely would outweigh the "cost" for a major event like the WC's.
Another angle would be to liase with a local University that has a media department and try to turn filming a major event into a student activity. Some students at the Uni I work at did some media project thingy at our local club flying field, I'll look into the quality of what they managed to do.
BTW I work in the Faculty of Engineering and I normally wouldn't be caught dead talking to anyone in Arts (or psychology for that matter), but I'll make an exception for the greater good....
