HI all,
After my two successful build threads (over 90,000 views each): The OSMOSE: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_65..._1/key_/tm.htm The XIGRIS: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_93..._1/key_/tm.htm And for the requests of many pilots from many countries, here comes the ARIXTRA build thread. Best regards, Isaac Najary |

Wow, another build thread?
I've read through Osmose build thread just a couple weeks ago and am on to Xigris thread. Best build thread I've ever seen. So far learned a lot going through your build thread. THANK YOU!! IP |

This is a classic kit from Aerocompet - http://www.aerocompet.fr/arixtra-kit-classic.htm
The model was design by Mr. Pascal Nowik, who was the designer of the Xigris and many other models from ZN Line. The kit quality is very good. Here are some drawings that Pascal sent me. The center of gravity is 200 mm from the trailing edge. The motor right thrust is 3° and down thrust is 1°. Best regards, Isaac Najary |

Thanks Isaac. I am starting my first build project because of your threads (set of wings from a foam core).

ORIGINAL: gaRCfield Thanks Isaac. I am starting my first build project because of your threads (set of wings from a foam core). Your words are my salary. My first goal of doing these building threads is to encourage the young modelers to build their models instead of buying ready to fly models. I am 58 years old now and I started to build model airplanes since I was 6 years old. For many years the building part of our hobby was very significant if not the most significant. In the last decade more and more people abandon the building part and buy ready to fly models, in that they miss the entire fun, learning, and satisfaction that are the models builders' portion. Best regards, Isaac Najary |

I'm looking forward to this one too. Your Xigris thread helped me to build the best flying airplane I've ever had.
I've been building for over 50 years but there are lots of different techniques needed for a modern pattern kit. You saved me lots of time, money and frustration! Scott |

The first thing that I always do when starting a new project is weighing the kit parts.

Isaac,
Would you please let us know the Savox servo #s. Are they high voltage or normal Digital? My next plane will have all high voltage servos. IP |

ORIGINAL: PatternFlyer Isaac, Would you please let us know the Savox servo #s. Are they high voltage or normal Digital? My next plane will have all high voltage servos. IP In the Aritxra I will use the same servos I am useing in the Xigris (normal Digital) because I am very satisfied with them: Elevators- http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SH1350.../savsh1350.htm Rudder - http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SC1258...avsc1258tg.htm Ailerons - http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SC1251...avsc1251mg.htm Best regards, Isaac Najary |

The second thing is writing an Excel worksheet with all the parts weights and the moments from the planning C.G.
The moments are used to know in advance where the motor battery tray will be and how much the battery should be moved in order to move the C.G. 1 cm' so the battery tray can be planned properly. In glow planes, one can know in advance, if the plane is going to be tail or nose heavy and try to eliminate the problem. I update the Excel during the course of the building process with the actual weights and mark them in green. The ARIXTRA Excel enclosed herewith, Sorry for the Hebrew, If someone wants the original Excel, please send me an email to [email protected] Best regards, Isaac Najary |

Great idea to extend the aileron facing inboard an inch! A lot of strength gain without much trouble.

Isaac, can you post a picture of your shop? I would like to see it as I am looking at new houses and am thinking about work spaces.

Thanks Isaac! It is good to see the space as well as some of the storage ideas. I appreciate your time in doing that. I cannot wait to finally have my own space to start doing what I was born to do.
