Not mine!
Lassi Nurila's 'Glacial' in April, from his Facebook page. He has been doing well with it at F3A World Cup contests in Europe. Apparently, others are using this design too. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...3ce30cfcd8.jpg |
Hi Stan,
I just assumed, incorrectly, that the Dark Star was e-powered. Looking at the photos more closely I see the head of the engine. Where does the exhaust exit? Are you running a pipe? If yes, is the pipe tunnel above the bottom wing, inside the fuselage? What is the dry weight? Lastly, I noticed that there appears to be negative stagger in the wings (lower wing LE is ahead of the top wing LE); what was the reason for that design feature? The big question is: how does it fly? I hope you’re finding time to get to the flying field. best regards, Will Bartlett |
Hello
Friend of mine Eric wanted a second plane for the French championship in case his usual plane had problems. He did maiden flights with his second plane last week end. Papaone,
What wt and weave of carbon material do you use for such a repair as you did in your previous post? |
Hello
I used HR 3K T300 Taffeta carbon fabrics 160 g/m² in 100 cm width for rounded parts https://www.boutique-resine-epoxy.fr...th-100-cm.html and Carbon fabrics 3K AS4 Taffeta 98 g/m² Powdered 1 side in 102 cm wide for flat surfaces (sides of the fuselage) https://www.boutique-resine-epoxy.fr...-de-large.html claude https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...47ca89d7e7.jpg |

The little guy is a Flight Hobbies Stage 50 with a YS 63 up front. Great flying plane. Would make a perfect entry level air frame. To bad it is no longer in production.
The big one is a 2M Twister with a YS 160DZ for power. I found out the 170DZ CDI back plate is a direct bolt in so it will get converted to a sparky in the near future. Ken |
My Twister was powered by YS175 CDI......best YS ever made.

Recently completed and contest tested BJ Craft Epilogue (arc), RTF weight is 4828grams

And here is my "new" one a Shinden Bryan Hebert designed first owned by Gary McClellan from OR and later Bill Bowen who sold it to me. Great flying airplane!

Hello
I just finished my second plane. Compared to the original design, I added fins which will allow me to see the difference in flight. A buddy who has the same plane I built for him told me he had decreased the rudder and no longer had any induced effect. On slice figures, it only acts on the direction without making any correction. Long live the "technique". It is by innovating that we progress claude https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...c2e0aa08cb.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...96c2d76a63.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...367f872062.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...896db17ad8.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...1a21c49b61.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...8e9e0d0eda.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...eefda55338.jpg |
Wow Claude!! Great job.

Great job!!

Beautiful Claude! A fat fuselage modern design that actually looks good. Amazing paint job you are obviously a master builder/

Hello
. It concerns the modification of a combustion-powered aircraft with an electric motor, which required the cutting of the firewall and the exhaust support floor, making a smaller cowl. It was necessary to redo a stripping of the paint to make a new one. The engine will be a Hacker Q80 Pattern is simple without T canalizer as shown on pictures. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...6db7bc686d.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...7ee965fd3f.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...9b607dbba5.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...32bb2a0866.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...169e7f5693.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...f9643b6c72.jpg |

The Defiant is my own design..
Fuse: 78" Wingspan: 76" Power: YS140L weight: 10 pounds 6oz. I have molds for the fuselage and cut my own wings and stab (foam, balsa covered) which are on carbon tubes. The fuselage is Carbon, kevlar, and foam. The Defiant pictured is the first out of my molds that I flew in Advanced this season. I'm happy with its performance as it helped me do well this year. (snaps very well) I'm currently in the finish stage of a second that will have a slightly smaller wing with a thicker and wider stab. It will be interesting to see how it compares.. If you have other questions feel free to inquire, thanks for your interest Todd Cheers Red [email protected] |

Just at the moment, I have three 2 mtr pattern aircraft all with different setups so thought this would be worth sharing. The biplane, an Oxai Cirtin, is the oldest design, with the B J Craft Element from about 4 years ago with the B J Craft Anthem launched last year (2022).
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...4d03b9b163.jpg The Anthem has a swept wing and not such a tall fuselage as the Element. The Citrin is no mean performer with knife edge manoeuvres due to its huge canalyser aka the top wing. It is also, in my opinion, the prettiest of the lot. However, it does not have quite the same locked in feel as the other two. I put that down to the increase in aerodynamic damping in pitch with the B J Craft designs. It's an odd thing to say, but the Citrin feels light on the elevator while the other two feel quite heavy. |
Hi Guys
My new plane , "partly" own design ! Had a cowling and a nice canopy from my Top Stage that ended its life in top off a tall fast growing tree. Build a wooden fuselage with one eye at the mono Top Stage drawing and some foam\balsa wings and stabs similar to my previose bi plane! Futaba rc system and a china contradrive , weight around 4800 gr! Flies so fare great have around 35-40 flights on it and it starts to behave like I want. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...dd0d43b50e.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...5316579940.jpg |
Very nice! Sorry about your Top Stage! Just how fast was the tree growing? :-)
