Chip has 2 Scandelous that he is flying this week. From everything I've heard, he is flying really well.

Not looking good this morning. Not raining yet at 06:20 but radar looks bad for the morning group (Masters and Intermediate).

Most of the rain missed us! Flying was delayed until 9:30 and everyone got in their 2 rounds. Misc pics from today:

Yeah, I'm in 28th place in Masters and really happy to be that high in the standings. It has been a tough season, my first round at the NATS was about my 12th full round of the new Masters pattern. Life just got in the way this year. But I'm having a great time :)

Getterflash,

Considering the competition at the National level and your "life in the way" That's really a good job!

The word around here is he was flying his new plane the Passport.

The other word is he drilled holes in his wing tube to get under weight and the tube failed in flight. However that is the Muncie rumor I am not sure how much truth there is to it.
Do you know if he was using a CF tube?

What is the foam beside the engine with the red rocker cover for in those pics?

Are there any results yet?

RE: 2007 Pattern Nats

The foam is used to keep the cooling airflow around the engine. I'm sure there are similar pieces of foam in the chin cowl to force the air around the cylinder.
