My few words.

Dear all,
This came as a big surprise to ZN. Even we don't know why and we certaintly shall not speculate. We had not started on the design...we were waiting for finalization as the prototypes and modifications were/are being handled by one of the best wooden airplane manufacturers in the world, OK Models.

As I have my own human biases, I shall stay away from this subject. ZN shall continue it's support to Christophe and Marco and shall continue to offer new, cutting edge designs for champions and pilots like myself too.

Thank you,
Mark

Doug, That is sort of what I was trying to say, it may have not come across as such, but that is what I meant.

I agree that this is really Chip's business, and I respect his right to say as little or as much as he likes on the issue.

That said I do not know Chip personally, with the name Chip Hyde simply representing an awesome, highly skilled pilot to me. (no disrespect intended)

Realising that most, if not all top pilots choose their equipment on its performance merits, and ability to help them win, the change makes me curious.

The same way I was curious about the Somenzini, Futaba- JR change.

Maybe it is just the effect sponsorship is intended to have on the average consumer, but I judge the best product by what the best pilots use.

Off topic, but......
I see the experimental YS 160 DZ also makes an appearance in the nose of Chips Double vision.

Quique's switch was because Hobbico's policy is that employees must live in Champaign (or nearby I imagine), while Horizon allows there employees to live elsewhere (I was told). Apparenty Quique did not want to move to Champaign, so the switch.

Since OS is also related to Futaba, I suspect that is also the major reason for his moving back to YS after flying OS in Ireland. (YS is better though :))

Anywho he placed second flying Futaba and OS, lets see how he does with JR and YS :D

That's the whole reason that companies sponsor individuals. Because they want to sway people to buy their products since the pros use them too. Look at golf for an example. Do you really think anyone would have ever bought a set of Nike clubs without Tiger Woods using them? I highly doubt it.

To be fare, I am a PL fan & a ZN fan, I like the way that they are different from one another. Pl's Lazulite was nice as was Jean Pierre's Enigma.

You will always have people that like one over the other.

I am not going to compare because I like them both!
