Is the split rudder a proven concept or will it be tested for the first time? |

Yes the split rudder is a proven concept and has been around for many years as a type of airbreak. However that was not why I chose to split the rudder on the passport. I did so to help deaden the rudders effectiveness around the center. Basically when a rudder input is given only half the rudder moves the other half stays straight. It is that way accept for stall turns, then both halves move together. By doing that for normal flight it has allowed the use of the wing tip fins in order to be able to have the same charecteristics in yaw that a bipe has. I was very pleased with the proto-type in every way, and the only changes we made to these was one more degree anhedral in the stab and a little more dihedral in the wing. Looking forward to the test flight in the next day or so.

Silly question. What is the purpose behind the curved trailing edge on the rudder? Looks, or does it serve a purpose? Was it to take a little area out of the rudder to further deaden it? I saw that airplane on display at the WC in Argentina and was VERY impressed with it. I can't wait to see one actually fly, or to fly one for that much. |

Hello Guys,
Does one have to pull strings to get one of there birds,...LOL? I've asked several times over the past two months for a ARC Passport. Nextbox told me there were only available in a kit form for now and the ARF would not be out till May or so. I had previously ordered an Osmose ARF and found out you can't make weight with it unless you build it yourself. Is there any hope in getting an ARF before May? |

Tood, you had the colors on yours changed is this a large undertaking to request. I would like to have 2 of something flying by the NATS for FAI/F3A this year. Do you have to use the split rudder setup and if so, will you guys assist in helping with the mixing required if need be? Awesome looking machine,.....how does it compare to an Osmose,.....any idea! The only reason I am asking is I ordered an Osmose from Luiz and have'nt had it shipped yet for other reasons. Thanks Guys, Bill Holsten PS: Good to see Chip on here posting! |

Bill, I have the Osmose ARF and ARF deluxe and they came to 4985 (because of a repair) and 4785 DLX, I don't know who told you it will not make the weight, mines did with no mods and using standar equipment. |

In conversations with others I was told to be very careful of the weight. I pretty much think it's hear say or mere speculation,...but it became a concern of mine. I am switching from the OS-160 and pipe to a 170DZ, I run Duralites and the standard size servo size or mini-digitals in the tail when possible, etc,...etc. Thanks for the info. Bill H. |

You do not have to use the split rudder the standard rudder will work fine and if you have any questions we will be glad to answer them. I have not seen the Osmose so I can't say. |

test flew the Pass-Port today and I am really going to like this plane. Just had time to get 2 flights and will start playing with the CG. So far it looks like it will take very little mixing if any,and I hope to get some more flights tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

Ryan,
The SFG's are made out of balsa and covered. The tips are held on by 2 4-40 bolts with blind nuts in the tip of the wing. We just take the tip off and run the bolts through the SFG and screw to the end of the wing. I will get some pic's this afternoon. |

Ryan, here are the pic's of the SFG's mounting. The SFG's are made out of balsa and covered,the wingtip
