RE: THE WC 2009 THREAD!!! its about time!!!
Most of the US Team got here yesterday, minus Andrew, his caller Verne, and my luggage. The latter three should hopefully be here this morning! The drive from Lisbon to Leiria, where we are staying, was beautiful. This is my first time in Europe, and it's pretty neat. We are working on getting setup right now and hopefully will be out to practice within the next day.

I was in Coimbra 10 years ago on vacations. They claim the oldest university in the world. Good wine and food for sure.

RE: THE WC 2009 THREAD!!! its about time!!!
Interesting place.
It reminds me a lot of Argentina, and the language is really neat. Being fluent in Spanish helps me some reading, but it sounds almost like people are speaking French. CPLR, BPLR and Seba so far are staying at our hotel. It's been very fun so far- I look forward to seeing everyone here! |

RE: THE WC 2009 THREAD!!! its about time!!!
I think Chad's canalizer is 390mm wide.
The Neptuno is a nice airplane, it appears to be of homebrew variety, but the fit and finish is incredible. |

ORIGINAL: mups53 Derek can you give any detaile on that Neptuno? Looks nice. Who makes it? Thanks, Mike The Neptuno is an all-wood fiberglass covered plane that is painted. It is made by one of the Hong Kong team guys - the price is right, I think. They are making an electric version with 2 piece wing - I've asked Peng for details on the plane and I'll take some photos of the inside tomorrow. |

Today was another good practice day for everyone at the army base airfield - again the US team, Hong Kong, China, British (2 guys) and The Paysant-Le Roux brothers were there... it was on the warm side again today. I'll attach more pictures... most of these are "guy" shots and not too many of planes... I wanted to capture the mood.
Andrew, Dave and Jason in this shot... |

Today was more of the same... same practice site and same teams flying except the Russian team showed up... I've reduced the size of the pictures so I'll be able to post more in a message...
Here are some detailed pictures of the Neptuno - this is a wood built plane that will be available in glow (one piece wing) or electric (2 piece wing and removable canopy) and it comes with all the hardware (horns, bolts, etc.). |
