That Evo/mvvs 1.60 will work with a little weight loss by using a light weight ignition
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...or_FTL_Engines
and do the other mods here
http://tech.flygsw.org/evolution26review.htm
and you will have a complete powerfull lightweight package...

I doesn't look like much for 3d ( I would'nt bother with that) but that is fine.
Set it up for precision, and it should work well.

Well you are about right the plane is not 3D animal nor a precision plane ..its somewere in the midle . i have modyfied the pipe allready and now i have a carbon tube and carbon landing gear ...all i can say is that the plane worth every euro i have paid for it

Would a Saito 1.50 with out the pipe work with this one

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY

yes a saito 150 would be a good engine in the remedy

Sorry, no video...but some pics ;)
Usually our little country rarely gets some good snow but this year we are treated ([&:]) with the white stuff for 6 weeks now, so had to adapt :D

After +/- 100 flights still very happy with the Remedy and its setup (OS 120AX with tuned pipe).
Btw; removed the flying wires (saved 42 grams in the tail!) without any problem (was a little afraid the stab would flutter / break but turned out to be strong enough)
Cheers, Hans

Hi there thats great pictures you have ...Remedy is a strong plane ...well much stronger than my e-evolution for sure ..
Is the 120 ax ok for 3D? and what is your final weight less fuel?

All-up weight (no fuel) is 5600 (for the complete set-up see my posting on page 3 of this topic)
For 3-D this engine with tuned pipe is "borderline"....you don't have much reserve power so not the ideal engine (but the Remedey is also not the ideal plane for 3-D.....)
For pattern (F3A) flying the 120AX (+ tuned pipe!!!) is absolutely fine. Great power-curve, fuel consumption not too bad, nice sound with the pipe and last but not least; very reliable!

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY

Howdy,
Ijust picked up one of these (#78 on the firewall)at a local swap this past weekend and Ihave a couple of questions.
Idon't know what engine the previous owner was using but the entire right side of the cowl has been cut out. Does anyone have a spare?Too much missing area to be repaired.
What performance can Iexpect using the recommended Magnum XL120 FS? ( the reason why Ineed a new cowl)
Can anyone give me the dimensions of the wheel pants?Need those too.
Go Vertical - I'm just down the road from you. Maybe you can show me what 3d is all about sometime.

Thanks, SnR

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY

hobby people sold the kit but no longer carry it nor do they have spare parts the wheel pants are 8in long . I don't feel the magnum 120 will do 3D in this plane if you want that kind of prformance from a glow 2 stroke i would recomend a OS160 or a 150-180 saito 4 stroke I would be happy to share any flying tips with you that i can I fly at mamoth park westmoreland co. I am a member of laurel highlands model airplane club we have a web site (LHMAC.org)

Thanks for the quick reply - a couple guys in my club (Keystone Clippers)have suggestedthat a23cc gasser might do the job - what do you think?? And thanks for the info on the pants, I'll see if Fiberglass Specialties has something Ican use.
I'll shoot you a PMwhen Iget things going here.....and when Iwork up the nerve for a lesson or 2.

Thanks, SnR

Hello there ...after my MVVS 26 +TUNED PIPE let me down i put on a 160os I think this is the best setup so far for me ,les weight and more power

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY

I just got a Saito 150 from one of our club members at the right price. Pretty much fits the cut-out in the cowl (imagine that), but I'll still need to do a little glass patchwork.

Couple of questions - Do Ineed right thrust, down thrust? Will the stock Saito muffler be Ok, or what do you recommend?

Thanks, SnR

go vertical 10-12-2010 07:18 PM

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY

the thrust angels are built in the firewall no change needed . it would cost more but slimline makes a inverted pitts muffler for the saito if you use the stock muffler I suggest putting a 2/56 bolt through the muffler header pipe it will come lose if you don't
