Mongrel, they're not the manufacturer for those kits, they're CA models, made in Argentina.
The hobbyman has some in aus, which you might be able to get cheap. |

Thanks,
I just gave them a call and they have some in stock :). even hooked on this one attached as its a little dif. Thanks for your help, I am either looking at getting a pattern plane that will fit a OS 200 or a Gas engine around 30 40 cc Cheers Jason |
RE: CA MODEL PATTERN PLANES ARE THEY GOOD?
You can fly pattern with the Fantasy, but that airplane is really ment for artistic aerobatics or 3D. Marcelo Colombo thedesigner used to fly it with the OS140RX, the aircraft was amazingly light.

RE: CA MODEL PATTERN PLANES ARE THEY GOOD?
If I remember right the fantasy is based on the PL Plod's Smaragd which was a lovely plane to fly.

RE: CA MODEL PATTERN PLANES ARE THEY GOOD?
The Fantasy is a 3D version of the Eclipse. The Eclipse was very similar to the Smaragd

RE: CA MODEL PATTERN PLANES ARE THEY GOOD?
A friend of mine has a CA Model Genesis with a ZDZ 40 Re F3A Gasoline engine with a ES Composites carbon fiber pipe. Very good combo with good power but not as much as YS 170 or Hacker powered models. My biggest concern is airframe durability because engine vibrations. This models are built glass-foam-glass sandwich, I think it could be a better choice for the DLE 30 gas engine a wood airframe like the Epsilon 120.
Just my opinion. |

I have been doing testing on the engine in a pattern test bed and it is promising enough that I will not use my beloved webras in my new design in favor of the SAP 180. I have thread here on RCU regarding the experience. Very close in output to the ZDZ40 (I have this engine too) but much lighter and much much smoother running. It is a rear intake and rear exhaust engine which is quite well suited to pattern Matt Kebabjian |
RE: CA MODEL PATTERN PLANES ARE THEY GOOD?
Forget non injection OS200. Used it in pattern competitions last season and can say it's not enough power even for 4700g plane.

RE: CA MODEL PATTERN PLANES ARE THEY GOOD?
I am getting a Moki 180 30cc, that should do the job.

ORIGINAL: mungrel dog I am getting a Moki 180 30cc, that should do the job. Nope, the SAP 180 with ES composite gas pipe is about as good as a webra 145 and slightly better than os 140 rx. Weight wise is about 3 ozs delta due to the ignition module FWIW2U MattK |
