These 400 MHz systems have a much longer range (or stronger signal at closer range) all things being equal. There are several suppliers this is just one.

I like that. Is it FCC legal? The only problem I see is the freq range is 400-470. Anything below 420mhz and the FCC will really come arrest you. Those are us military and emergency locator frequencies. You keep hopping on 406mhz and below and they will come get you. If it was 420-450mhz I would buy one right now.

I guess I would stop doing spins at this point.

First I use Airtronics ! Yes I'm a Team pilot but was flying the SD10G before on the Team.

2nd - I use for a Government project a radio system on the 420-440 MHz range at 1 watt... yes one watt and it is legal as long as you have a FCC Armature Radio License... Works great but due to new FAA regs we are not doing long range flying, as this was good for well over 10 miles, while our video link was tested at 5 miles.. the video link was 1 watt on 2.4 also FCC Lic, required.

The ATX SD10G has a fast boot time and also is a low voltage and current consumption so I have never had a brown out.

just my 2 cents.

The power consumpion comes from the servo loads - not the rx load - that load is quite low-any rx.
Brownouts are not brand specific occurrances - they are simply cases whre the total load exceeds the battry capability.
Or there is a high resistance between batt and rx a lousy voltage reg can cause this Obviously your setup is working as it should
