Default Turnigy 9X Transmitter 2.4

I have the 9X , Grey in Color, TGY 9X Transmitter and it has worked great for 2 years... Yesterday I noticed that the ailerons on one of the models that I fly with that transmitter would not respond... all other functions worked.... After taking the receiver and servos out of the airplane to fix/replace I realized the problem was not in the airplane... I tried another model and the ailerons did not work... I checked the display function on the transmittter and noticed none of the 7 models program showed any aileron movement... Throttle, Rudder and Elevator all indicated movement using the display function.... Do I have a lose wire in the transmitter? or has this been a known problem and how can I fix it.... Thanks.....

I've not heard of that problem that I can recollect. I think I'd take it apart and inspect the wires where the aileron pot is. One of the solder joints may have come off.

It would be worth finding a "friend" who can solder, right? At this point in the TX game the 9x is still the best deal going. I'd replace it then you have one for parts.

Thanks guver.. I am planning on getting another one.... Any suggestions? I am considering the Turnigy 9x v2 for $53.95 . It is in my HK catalog July 2012 issue. Includes module and receiver..

That's what I would get if I needed another. At one time they were $39 , but I paid $89 for one of mine from hobbypartz. I needed one real quick.

Why don't you send the broken one back to HK and let them fix it? You can get a nice Spectrum DX6i for $59.00.

Only 2 years old and a wire broke? Glad it wasn't in an expensive plane.

I've been using a JR 7 channel for 5 years and not a bit of trouble. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for.

You are right about the old saying of you get what you pay for...... most of the time..... I have a Futaba 9C using the same receivers as the HK TGY 9X and all 12 receivers are from HK and work great with both radios.... My HK TGY 9X is set up for my small electric airplanes.....I also have a Futaba 9C set up on 72 Mhz... and a Futaba 8U set up on 72mhz... I was not aware that HK would work on transmitters... I will look into it... Thanks....

Radio South can fix it in a few minutes. Closer to you I think.
