RE: DX7s throttle reversed, trim wont work
I too have been flying for over 5 years on SpeKtrum and JR radios. I would never, buy a Futaba radio ever again and I had Futaba before that. ALL RADIOS have issues from time to time.
There TROLL fed. Happy?

Mike, +1 on the firmware update.
Frankly at your level I'm surprised you didnt get an 11x or similar.

Lol, thanks for mocking me, as expected you guys totally misinterpreted my original request, but at least it's an entertaining conversation and I am getting the help I need somewhere in there. Frankly "at my level" I found out that I can do everything I need with 7 channels. I've never had a 12 or 18 channel radio, but honestly my Futaba 9c and old Spektrum DX7 were the most practical that I ever owned. I can do everything I can ever really NEED with 7 channels on planes up to 35%. If I ever needed something more to get max power to all servos, a simple power distribution box took care of the rest.
Thanks for the insight on firmware. I'm going to update and see if that helps. I'll let you know.

RE: DX7s throttle reversed, trim wont work
Something you may want to look at is a switch turned on for Throttle Cut. If the Throttle cut is set for one direction and you reverse the throw it may be going the wrong way and locking you out Maybe Inhibit the Throttle Cut completely and see what happens. I had the Timer and the Throttle Cut set to the button- what a problem, start the timer and the engine turner off

Since you're experienced, you know that throttle trim only works on the lower half of throttle travel, and that it is added in as a function of its displacement from center.
That should be all the non-help you need to understand why your change doesn't work as you expected.

Hi all,
I just bought a new DX7s and for some reason the trottle trim works perfectly when the throttle action is normal, but when I reverse the throttle action in the transmitter, the throttle trim does not work, not at all. I need to be able to reverse the throttle to get what I need in my setup. All due respect I am very experienced at setting up planes and I am familiar with RC electronics, so I dont need any additional help. Im just curious if anyone else has experienced and solved this little glitch that I cannot figure out in the transmitter. I called horizon and they could not explain it or offer a solution.
Thanks in advance for your insight.
Mike

As far as Andy's reply it's okay I sortof had it coming. I can have the subtleness of a sledgehammer... I just didn't want a bunch of unsolicited advice about mechanical setup and stuff like that that was clearly not part of my problem...

Once I registered on the website it took less than 2 minutes to locate, download to the memory card, place the card in the transmitter, turn it on and load. There was nothing to it. The only thing that took time was getting the serial number registered... Horizon is a really good company and a very good tech services group. It does surprise me in hindsight that they didn't suggest updating.. I will call them today and let them know what we did. Maybe they can add it to their list of basic questions to ask..

At Horizon we have this little card that everybody new gets called "The Basics" - 20 little things that we need to do to keep us set apart from (above ) the competition.
Item #20 is "Have fun. Enjoy your job. A good attitude is infectious."
I understood where Mike was coming from. The last thing I want to hear sometime is what I've already checked and I know what I'm doing. (Sometimes it's needed, though, and then I usually ask somebody to review it step by step with me and we find the issue without him saying a word.).
So the take home - yup, Andy's a fungi, I mean a fun guy, and he's human, and so are you (unless you're a Google Bot).
I'm glad Mike got it sorted out. Keep up the good work, guys!
Andy
