Default flysky i6

I have decided to start my long awaited rc hobby right now. Bought my first transmitter flysky i6. I turned it on, but did not bing it to any receiver yet. Literally i am unable to even got to the menu, is this how it will be or my transmitter is defective. Please help !!

If so, did you put the (4) AA batteries in the correct way? I have done that many times so I have to ask.

Yes this is my transmitter. I have properly put the battery and its displaying the voltage too, but not moving to any other screen
