Default Cannot overwrite AR636 settings when programming it

I have an AR636 that I bought at the local hobby store. I have been trying to program it with both my iphone and the PC app. For some reason, it was initially setup as a SAFE receiver, even though I did not select that as a plane type during the programming process. I would really like to be able to "reformat" it so to speak so it is in the same state it was when I initially programmed it. I have connected it to my PC program, created new profiles or downloaded new ones that are not SAFE select. I change the settings in the PC program with gain and heading settings. I then attach the receiver, and as soon as they connect, there are no more heading choices and my switch port, aux1 is not available to choose. If I connect it sometimes it says the version on the PC is different than the receiver but not always. If I choose the pc version, I still lose the heading choices I first setup.

If I connect the receiver to my iPhone using the usb dongle, I get the following:

Model Type: SAFE
Reliever doesn't match model on device. Continuing will overwrite the existing model settings.
Create new model or Cancel.

Whatever I do, I can no longer program AS3X headings with this receiver. I never set it up in SAFE, yet that is what it says it is in. I have downloaded 2.30 firmware several times trying to reset the receiver to the factory settings, but to no avail. Without being able to program heading values, the receiver is useless to me.

How in the heck do I get the receiver to accept a new profile from my phone or PC without it always writing it's profile to those devices no matter what I do.

I would appreciate any help a seasoned AS3X programmer could give me.

Thanks,

Terry

Default Found my problem

I discovered that by following a YouTube video, I installed the latest, not general, but SAFE software version to the receiver. When I went back to firmware 1.43, I got the receiver back to it's standard mode where I can set the heading values I need. it pays to not follow every Youtube video. I now know how to setup a standard AR636 in SAFE mode!!

The "version" number is part product (v1 = AS3X, v2 = SAFE, v4 = HELI) and part revision (the .xx numbers).
