Default DX 7 Spectrum

Hi everyone. Been away from the hobby for about 5 years. Getting the itch. I have the DX 7, Futaba 7 channel, and Aurora 9. I'm thinking of using the DX 7 for electric foamies. Are these still good?

Are DX7's still good? Most definitely. They don't have the bells and whistles of the newer stuff but they are very reliable and can use DSM2 or DSMX rx's. LOTS of fun stuff on the Horizon website to look at and your DX7 will operate all of it.

If your DX7 wasn't abused, and stored in a decent place, it should work just fine. They're still good. You might need a battery for yours though.

If memory serves me, the original DX7 transmitter is DSM/DSM2 protocol, and can actually be upgraded to DSMX.. but that wasn't standard when these were produced.

I still own one, and I fly my smaller glow planes, and several electrics with it. It's more of a park-flyer transmitter for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a medium sized glow plane. It's still very relevant.

So yeah... get that thing out and fly!!
