Servo Stress..cant decide..
Hi gang here is my dilemma:
I have a 25% Giles just about ready for servo's but I cant decide what to out in it. I have made it down to these servo's:
Hitec 5645mg's Digital
Futaba 9202's
Hitec 645mg's
Im not sure if im gonna have problems with the digitals as some have had and im not sure if the standards from hitec or futaba are gonna be up to par. Its not a huge plane but its my 1st giant scale so im not sure what to do. I am ready to buy but would like some input from you guys. [sm=thumbup.gif]
thanks
matt

Any of the servo's you listed will be fine. Anything in the ~75oz-in range will be enough torque for a 25% aerobatic plane. Anything above 150oz-in is over kill. Don't worry too much about metal vs other gears. There are 40% aerobatic planes using nylon gears on control surfaces.

The Futaba 9202 is coreless and will provide better centering than the others mentioned. Important on the Giles, where small control deflections can cause the plane to pitch, roll, or yaw.

5645s or 9202s on the elevator.
Hitec 6xx servos are strong enough for all surfaces in this plane, but have some centering issues.
You have to run really small throws on the elevator you need something precise.

Not an authority on servos but I am on prices. I was justy sent to [link]http://www.servohut.com[/link] by another member and found specs. and prices where I liked them. They had a list from mini to coreless to read on.
