Default Which one would you buy 9Z or 9C?

OK, say if you can buy either one.

Which one would you buy?
Would you buy the 9Z which is more expensive, but more features. OR, 9C which is less expensive and less features.

Do you really use all 9Z features?

In the computer world, people would buy the top of the line computers and spend thousands of dollars, but they only uses mostly for typing and internet access.

I curious if it is worth the money to buy the 9Z radio?

Thanks!

If you don't know if the 9Z is for you, then it probably isn't. The 9C has enough features for almost anything you are going to be flying, but for very advanced setups the Z will give you more. I have a heli buddy who owns a 9Z and he said that if the 9C was out when he was radio shopping, he would have bought that. I have set up some complicated planes with my 9C, including a 30' blimp with thrust vectoring and three flight modes.

I could have bought either one, but the 9C is perfect. I wouldn't use the extra funtions of the Z and the extra in price is not worth it to me. It may have a few extra features, but if you don't use them, you are throwing a bunch of cash down the tubes. The 9C has everything the normal flyer would ever use. I wouldn't fly anything else right now. The 9C is the best radio I have ever had my hands on. I used to have 8 radios, now I have just 2 that I use, and I hardly ever take the old one out, the 9C goes all the time when I fly. I use the 7FGK in the tear around planes once in a while, but very little any more.

You will be very happy with either, but the 9C will do what you want to do.

I notice that there is no reverse switch on 9C.

How does this affect the invert flying specially for the helicopters?

Look at it this way, the 9C gives you 95% of the capabilities of the 9Z for a third of the cost. That's something to consider.
But now you're talking all that crazy helicopter talk where you want to fly upside down and who knows what else God never meant man to do.

If you're one of "those" guys who aren't happy unless you constantly push the limits of what a radio can do, then you may not be satisfied unless you have the opportunity to while away the hours deeply engrossed in the programming maze of the 9Z.
In fact, programming the 9Z can be a hobby unto itself.

Now you pick

Both are 8 proportional, 1 on/off, with the 9th channel only available in PCM mode.

The invert switch is no longer used by the chopper pilots. Inverted flight is done in flight modes.

I am just making comparison and I don't get the real pro and cons of the product by talking to FUTABA.

An advice I read once was to buy the best radio money can buy.
While I could buy either one, I want to be realistic and to know if it is worth the money for 9z.

Also my hobby has been helicopter, but I don't want a radio that only limit to that.
Furthermore, I don't want to buy something that has features that will never be uses.

thus far, I gathered that:
9z is hard to program/configure
9z is too expensive
9c has 95% of features that 9z has
9c and 9z do have ccpm mode (I think?)

I have had my eyes on 9c all this time. I just hate to find out that 9c cannot do something (important??) which 9z has.
It is a once investment that I really want to do for a long period time.

I do have Futaba 7UAHP.
Other than the number of channel available and CCPM mode, is there anything that 9c could do and 7UAHP couldn't?

My main reason of buying another radio is the CCPM mode which many helicopter configurations now have because I want to buy a new heli . But, I don't think heli is the end of my R/C hobby.

Have the 9CAP and don't use "ALL" the features ... but I'm sneaking up on them.
Using both the Aircraft and Heli modes ... nice to have both.

My impression is ... if you are going to be in "serious" competition ... go 9Z.
If you just want the Top of the Line ... go 9Z.

Answer no to both questions ... 9CAP is a lot of radio!

Good foutune !

The 9C is 10 times the radio that the old 7U. I hated programming the U series and the C series is a breeze. First time I picked one up and turned it on, I picked up the phone and ordered one from heliproz. If you are just a basic flyer, the 9C will be fine for you. I have never seen anyone use conditions, and for those that use them, I am sure they are really nice, but for the average joe, they aren't worth the extra money unless you just want them. The 9C is going to do anything you could want it to do, other than the conditions. Unless you just WANT the 9Z, get the 9C and enjoy it. Its easy to program, feels good in your hands and is a pleasure to fly with.
