Default Futaba S9252 Problems

I'm flying a Aeroworks Extra profile and I have Futaba S9252 Servos installed with a Futaba R138DP reciever and a 9z WCII radio. I am having a huge problems with the servos when I turn the plane on the servos flap about a half inch on each side of the surface. When the plane is in the air it doesnt seem to be a problem but a 1600 mah pack (4.8v) will last 12 minutes. I was wondering if any one else has had this problem. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would say you may have been overloading the receiver. Stand back a ways and see what happens. I was under the notion you could not do that with a PCM reciever but I could be wrong.

sounds like you have some serious binding going on with your linkages, for one when you turn on the radio it sounds like the servos straining to find a neutral which is why they would flap in both directions, two is, I believe 9252 are digitals, and digitals combined with binding linkages = accellerated battery drain BIG TIME!

Is your pack MiMH or NiCAD? It says on the box of the servo you have to run 4.6V NiCAD ONLY. Im trying to figure out why, and this may be your problem...

If you have a good battery I would say you are pulling about 5 amps from it if it lasts only 12 minutes. You have a serious problem. Is there anything smoking? There are a lot of things that could cause this and it very hard to guess with the little information you have provided. If I were you I would find a technician within your R/C group and take it to him.

Plug the servos into the receiver without any extensions. If they work there, buy some quality, gold plated extensions.

Well done Fritz, sense at last, it is the extension leads that cause this problem

Where do you buy Futaba gold-plated extensions?
