Retuning the RX would just involve changing the crystal to match your TX channel. It is not advisable to change RX crystals if you have Futaba RX's and are going from a low band (ch 20) to a high band (ch58). You could probably find someone willing to trade a low band for a high band RX. Or you could buy a Hitec RX which eliminates the low band/ high band issue.

Jean,
Trust the manual, they wouldn't tell you incorrectly on what equipment is safe to use. The modules are identical -- in fact they are the same product # and if you were to order a new module for your 7U or your 9C they are the exact same module.

Yes, assuming you have a Futaba compatible Hitec RX (they make some for JR too), you can buy a Hitec crystal on the same channel as your Futaba TX and be fine. Hitec RX's do not need to be retuned if you change crystals.

I have a Hitec Slim Supreme in one of the planes I fly with my Futaba 9C.
