Airtronics RD6000 trim memory functioning
Looking at RD6000 as an option of new radio. Cannot understand how does the trim memory work. Downloaded the manual and it says exactly the following:
"Trim Memory for Elevator, Aileron, Throttle, and Rudder is input by the Digital Trim keys set when you use the INC +/YES or DEC -/NO keys to input trim."
So[sm=confused.gif]....what does that mean? In order to save trim values i tuned during flight, should I use INC or DEC buttons or trims get saved immediately when I use trimmer keys? Any of the RD6000 owners, could you explain?
thx

The trim buttons are just that. You push them to increase or decearse the trim. In the programing you can also change it by the YES/NO buttons. Since the trim buttons are not like the OLD lever's that had a ratchet on them to hold thier position, the RD's store the value in memory. In heli modes you can have different trim settings for each of the flite modes.

You do not have to do anything to save the trim settings. You can turn the tx off and back on and the settings will remain the same. When your plane is all trimmed out you can set the control linkage to center your trims or if it is not far off you can go into the tx [I don't remember right off if it is in the advanced or basic menu] and center the trims there so that the trims are centered when you look at them on the LCD.
The RD series are great radios-Extremely easy to use.
