Airplane servo torque requirements.
There are many "opinions" about using this or that servo for an aircraft application, but does anyone know just exactly how much pressure is being applied to a control surface by the air when in flight? Is there a formula that will take the area of the control surface, and the speed, and the angle of deflection and come up with a real torque requirement? I suppose then we'd have do do some more math to sort out the servo arm and control horn length. Hmmm, math is not my strong suit. I have a Giant Aeromaster, and before I go out and buy a set of "huge" servos, or some expensive coreless or digital servos, I'd like to know with some degree of security, if it needs nothing more than a batch of Futaba S3001. I dont expect this plane to be winning high level aerobatic contests, but I do expect it to be fully capable of IMAC figures, and fly through them fairly well. All comments appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do you mind publishing the formula you used for the calculator? I don't have MS Excell
