Looking for GOOD 60+ oz and 90+ oz servos....suggestions
Hey guys,
I am looking for some good 60+ oz servos for the elevators and 90+ oz servos for the rudder......Speed needs to be fast and weight is important.....I typically deal with all giant scale servos, so I am sort of at a loss here......I have done some searching and found the Hitec 5245s, HS77s and the 545s....Of these 3, the 5245 seems to be the better ones for the 60 oz servos......
For the 90 oz servos, I have the JR 4735 as my #1 and the HITEC 5925 and 5945 as a tie for 2nd....The 5945 is much stronger, but the 5925 is much faster........
My question to you guys is...Do you know of any better or other options that might fit my needs?
Thanks

They are lighter than the 59xx, they have the torque needed and with resin gears, they must have some interesting precision also.
I assume this for your CapX ?
I am going to buy 4 5975s for my 1/4 scale cap. I already have the 5925 for the rudder so that is why I only buy 4 instead of 5.

These servos are not for my CAPX...they are for a highly modified 60 size GP extra 300s.....that is why weight is so important

Give a look at the MPI 870 corless servo for both applications. I run several. At under 50 bucks they are strong and fast, prefer 4.8 volts so you can use a light battery pack and dont feel any heavier than a standard servo. Of course If money is not a consideration the 5975's look like the way to go for the 90+

Hey Tom,
Great suggestion....I have never used any MPI servos, but they look good on paper. I was comparing your 870 suggestion to the 890...The 890 is about 1/4oz lighter and a little faster, but it only has 100 in oz of torque (which is good enough for this project)...Where are you getting them for under 50 bucks?

As above it looks like they have dropped the nylon 870 in favor of the MG variety that is a few dollars more, but still only 53 bucks. I have had a 450-460 (dont remember which) on the rudder of a ace 230 and it functioned very nicely, albeit a little noisy. They have great specs and are cheap but I dont remember them being a coreless servo
