Default Servo binding or broken?

I recently finished building a kit and upon installing servos and pushrods I found the servo for the elevator to make a constant noise when powered on. However, when I "flick" the Xmtr gimble down, i.e. a "flick" of up elevator, it stops until I move the gimble again. A "flick' in the other direction does not cure the problem, only in the aforementioned direction. I hope that makes sense, LOL, I really can't afford to buy another servo. Thanks in advance for any clues!

P.S. They are Futaba 3004 servos.

If your servo buzzes all the time it is either stalled under load or it has a dirty pot( potentiometer). It still will work o k but can drain the battery. Maybe use this servo for throttle and see if it buzzes at different settings.

Thanks Irish,

One thing I might add, now that I think of it, It seems to only happen when the pushrod is attached to both ends. Possibly some tension between the servo arm and elevator control arm? These are metal pushrods, not nylon. I had to make a slight bend in the rod itself near the tail to make the angle less binding, could be I need more bend there.

Will let ya know how it goes.

Primodus

I had the same problem. Turned out to be binding on the servo. I had the servo installed a little to tight and had to bend the push rod a little to stop the chatter.

If it is an analog servo, it may be binding.
If it is digital, then I would not worry about it.

Problem Solved! It turned out to be two things. The Xmtr was flooding all the servos at close range. The plane range tests flawlessly. Also, there was binding on the elevator pushrod and a little extra bending fixed that. Thanks for the quick responses all!
