Default Long Antenna Tube

Got a new Dirt Demon the other day and the receiver antenna is SUPER long. I'd like to avoid rolling it up in the compartment. Where can I buy a tube to suit my needs? The closest I've seen are [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD667&P=7]these[/link] but i'm not 100% sure they're what I need. Thanks!

Default RE: Long Antenna Tube

What do you mean by super long? Typical antenna length is 39 to 41 inches. If you fold it up and stuff it in a limited space, your range will suffer greatly. There are acceptable ways to shorten this antenna with limited (but still some) loss of range. Many of the current magazines specializing in park flyers and indoor electric show means of doing this, just do a search. You can make your own antenna tube by just scotch taping several drinking straws end to end or use the outer sheath of some of the plastic push rod assemblies. The simplest solution is just run it out the back of the model and let it trail behind or, if the wing is hollow, run it the length of the wing and let it trail out from the wing tip.
