Default help with gws receiver

I just got a Gws NARO 6ch. receiver(futaba) to put in my FMA Razor. My transmitter is a Focus 3 fm.

1. Does it matter which way I put the crystal into the receiver?(polarity)

2. Before I hook up the servos and esc(fma mini20) I just wanted to get confirmation on the correct set up. I am not too sure where to plug in the ESC. The GWS instructions are as follows:
ch.1-aileron,ch.2 elevator,ch.3throttle,ch.4/B rudder...easy enough, but I'm not using a receiver batt.... power comes from the ESC.... where does it get plugged into?

Would appreciate any help.
thanks, James

crystal direction does not matter. There is no polarity on a crystal. As for the speed control it would go into the throttle channel (3) and the receiver and servos will get their power from the motor battery via the speed control.

Thanks for the reply JoshL.

I wasn't 100% sure and I didn't want to fry the receiver so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Just hooked it up and all works fine,,gonna take it out for a field check and maybe a first flight...
thanks again, James

Default help with gws receiver

First flight sucked :stupid: couple cartwheels later..
Resulted in a split in the left wing about 4"long (started at the te
near the canopy.....time to break out the loctite superbonder..and reinforce that area with some packing tape...and add a bit of weight to the right wing.not gonna give up on it tho...will try again in the morning
This isn't as easy as flying my easy electro 72,everything went so smooth with it,,,assembly, first test flight and subsequent flights..
Hooking up the hitec 555 on the glider was a breeze..pictures sure are worth a 1000 words,,(note to GWS:use illustrations)
Will post with positive results tomorrow
James
