Default Futaba 8U

When setting up flaps using variable control #6 on the 8U transmitter, full flaps have the control pointing at approximately 7 o'clock. Flaps off has the contol pointing at 12 o'clock. However, going past the 12 o'clock position to the 5 o'clock position raises flaps like spoilers, which I do not want to do. Is there a way to ascertain that the flaps are actually neutral without having to look at the control to get it right at 12 o'clock? Sometimes we have our hands full of airplane at the time and looking away from the actual flight path can get hairy. Is there a way to turn off the control from 12 o'clock to the 5 o'clock position?

Thanks for the help...........................Pat

Pat,
Absolutely. simply turn the knob to the left side, the way you don't want it to go. Now mix ch 6 to ch 6, and set the % for htat side to -100%. DO NOT turn the knob to the right and do not change the right hand percent from 0. Switch NULL. You got it.

Default almost there

Thanks AnnMarie.

I mixed ch6 with ch6 like you said and it worked, almost. My left flap is perfect, however, the right flap still goes up. The left flap is plugged into ch 6 on my receiver and the right flap is plugged into ch 5. This is an ultra stick that was set up according to the assembly manual. I did download the acro set up from your FAQ, but I haven't had a chance to reprogram. I tried mixing ch5 to ch5 but that didn't do anything. Your expert help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance..................Pat

Pat, go in your ch 6 to ch 6 mix and turn link ON and see if that resolves it.
