AnnMarie,

Thanks for the comprehensive summary and welcome to RCUniverse, I was wondering how long it would take you to pop up over here.

Now that you have, I hope you stick around and contribute to this excellent resource using your vast knowledge of RC.

Default Thanks Mrs. AnnMarie Cross

Well you did it!!

You sold me on the Futaba 9C.

I just bought mine from a place in Oregon. Got the Futaba 9CAP (PCM)

The entire kit with shipping was $429.95 he has 5 left if anybody is interested. Just Email me and I'll give you the web site.

Tower sells the same set for $449.99 and they would not match price, they told me it's too much in demand and they will sell it for that.

Default Hello AnnMarie....

I also ordered the 9C last week, just on the merits of the comparison chart on the Futaba site. I'm really excited to get it, I was told it could be a few weeks though, due to availability, I ordered a specific channel, that could be what they are waiting on.
I'd like to tell AnneMarie also, and those interested, the Futaba website looks great, and has been a major tool and factor in radio decisions. Good to see you here AM.

Is this thing gold or silver in color? The Futaba website shows it to be sliver but other pictures show it as gold, go figure???

Looks like a great radio and most likely my next radio.

Default 9C price and ouput power

I ordered my 9CAP from Tower at $449. There was a $30 discount on orders over $399, plus they gave a $20 gift certificate with the radio, and I got free shipping because of my Super Saver membership, making it $399 shipped.
I had a 6XAS and while I was transferring the settings over to the 9CAP (manually) I noticed that the 6XAS was stronger in TX output when controlling a 127DF receiver which is FM PPM. When I range tested it it was ok at 100 feet, but if I land long and set the 9C tx on the ground in anticipation of the walk out to get it off the end of the runway, the plane servos move erratically. I wonder if this is normal, but I have not seen this before. Like I said the 6XAS (same freq 41) could control it when both TX's were held at the same distance to the rx. I had to move the 9C substantially closer. I wonder if this unit ought to be serviced? I have flown it 8 times with no problem on the 127DF, and haven't yet flown it with the 149DP rx yet.

Hi Tom,

Your right Tower Did have a $30.00 Discount but it's no longer valid it's only $10 over $150 purchase now. Also Tower does not have any Futaba 9C's in stock and expect some in MAYBE end of January. Also for the $20.00 coupon, it's from Futaba and it's for future purchases on Futaba products, can't be applied towards the radio or shipping.

Default 9C

Hi guys!

so glad you enjoy the site. there is a 9C specific FAQ at www.futabarc.com/faq/faq-9c.html that i hope you find particularly helpful.

the radio is champaign color not silver or gold.

The slightly shorter or longer range is a difference in the 2 radio's ground performance. PLEASE PLEASE never leave your radio behind when walking out to get your airplane without a helper on it, esp if your engine/motor is running! That's just an accident waiting to happen.

Sincerely,
Mrs. AnnMarie Cross
