JR 642 Programing
I'm having a problem programing a JR 642 radio.
I can seem to get the dual ailerons to operate correctly.
I'm using the flaperon function and the ailerons operate normally, however when I pull the flap switch the flaps go down ok but I don't have any aileron control.
Hard to steer using rudder only.
Anybody have any ideas???
Thanks

Change the travel adj for the flaps
the default is 100% each way. change this to perhaps 30% each way. What is happening is that the flap switch drives both aileron servos to their extreme. then there is nothing left for aileron control when the flpas are deployed.

Correct?
DMcQuinn is correct, give it a try and reduce the flaps down. If you have never used flaps before you should start with low % anyway, be a couple of mistakes high and then flip the switch and see what the plane does, might need to add up/down elevator depending on what plane does, increase/decrease flaps by 5% to 10% at a time till you get the results you want. You can also mix flaps to elevator too.

Both of you hit right on the head. I did have the flap travel to far.
Also another thing I found after I reduced the travel was the I was not getting much delection when the flaps "spilled" when I moved the aileron stick.
Found out by trial and error, but the sub trims can cause the reduced travel, after I reset the sub trims to zero.....and mechanically centered the surfaces, full travel returned. Lesson learned don't cheat, do the job right the first time.
Thanks for your help and advice, you got me on track.....
Test flight this Saturday.
