Hobbico Freq: Checker
Just seen my first ad for this thing & the price looks right .Any comment on the usefulness or irritation factors . Power consumption , sensitivity ,false calls . I suspect they could be comfort food for unwary . Any comments out there. Thanks, SYD.

RE: Hobbico Freq: Checker
With my home made antenna, I get false hits on one channel. Overall, I think this is one of the best values for the function it provides. I can live with the false hits on one channel, I'll just not fly that channel.

RE: Hobbico Freq: Checker
Here's a three page thread on the Checker:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2893857/tm.htm
I,ve been using mine for about a month now almost daily and while it is not a cure all and has limitations but if understood it is an extremely useful tool and I will not be without one ever agine. It made a documented save for me on its very first trip to the field and I detailed this in that thread. As far as battery life goes I,ve no idea (still on original alkalines).
