Default Spektrum DX6 AR6000 Receiver

I am a newbie [:-] to RC and need to understand receivers and batteries. If a receiver (like the AR6000 I have) has an operating range limit of 9.6V, then must the battery system be that number of volts or less? I think I have to supply a separate battery for the receiver or a BEC in the ESC can regulate the output voltage. For instance could you use a 11.1V 1100mAh 3 cell LiPo as long as the ESC (with BEC) can handle? I just do not want to kill the new receiver. Thanks for the help.

Hi newbie!
The BEC in the ESC (gee that kinda rhymes!) does the voltage regulation, so no problem. You should check the specs. on the ESC as to how many cells you can use the bec with (usually about 12 cells) a 3s LI-po should be fine[8D]
Good luck,
Pete
