Default Futaba 9ZAP Antenna SWR on 50 Mhz

Hello,

I just measured the SWR on my 9ZAP stock antenna. It looked like the SWR is about 1.5 at 72.2 Mhz, with R = 77 and Z=2. Not bad.

At 50.9 MHz, the SWR is 6.8, R=35, Z=90.

I always get very good range on 50 Mhz, so do you think Futaba really puts some sort of matching network in the 50 MHz module to match this stock antenna better? The reason I am asking is that I want to experiment with different antennas (outside of the radio case) and I do not know how the stock modules output is designed. I have seen that there is some sort of pi filter in the transmitter, after the module but before the antenna, but I cannot get into the module far enough to see its circuitry.

Thanks in advance,
