Default 7CAP Trainer Function

My friend has the 7CAP and I have the 6EXAP. We wanted to buddy my TX to his so I could try out his Edge 540. The 7CAP is set up as follows. ( 1+6=aileron with flaperon enabled {dial} 2= elevator 3=throttle 4=rudder 5= ignition {switch A} )all channels set to N under trainer function. My 6EXAS is set the same {flaperon on dial} {ignition on gear switch}. The trainer function will not switch from INH. His can be used as a buddy box to mine, but mine will not work as a buddy box to his. Am I missing something? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bob

Default RE: 7CAP Trainer Function

Hi Bob,

Theoretically there should be no problem, to use either the 6EXA as slave either the 7C...

If the 7C does not want to work as master (if I did understand your problem), I guess you trainer function in the 7c has not been activated. The sign "INH" should be changed into "OFF" as per manual page 38 in the table halfway the page, which says :
Open BASIC menu, then open TRAINER function.
Activate TRAINER [with knob by setting] to OFF.

The "OFF" in the display will NOT change if you operate the trainer-switch (contrary to the 9C).
Then only you decide if you use the option "F" (Function) or "N" (Normal). In your case the 6EXA has exactly the same settings as the 7C, so you can use the "N" -option.

Hope you can sort it out.

Olivier

Default RE: 7CAP Trainer Function

Boy do I feel stupid! I assuned the (off) meant the frunction was turned off. I knew the INH meant the function was inhibited. Any way, set it to off and it works fine both ways now.
Thanks for the help. Bob
