Default moew power (volts) to my servo

hello
i have a very lager servo for my sailboat ,
it is runing off a reciver pack and the power for it is getting transferd through the revicer , then to the large servo ,and there for it is not putting enof amps or volts to make it move faster

so i read some where that you take the red wire and hook it up to a better or somthing , it was article like a servo power bypass

its like the servo has its own battery and the wires that go to the reciver just control it
and any one find the article or explane how to do this >?

Going thru the receiver does not cost you any volts or amps. But it is possible to run the servo at a higher voltage than the receiver. If your servo can handle 12 volts (for example) you can run a 12 volt pack to the servo and a 4.8 volt pack to the receiver. All the black wires must be connected together, and the red wire from the 4.8 volt pack goes to the receiver. the red wire from the 12 volt pack goes to the servo. The control wire (usually orange) goes in the usual place between the receiver and servo.

Here's a sketch. Two batteries, two switches with charge receptacles. you will have to do some soldering. Again, this only works if your servo supports more voltage. Most servos in our hobby work only up to 6 volts or so.

Yes, the black wires must be soldered together
