Default Futaba 127DF.RX

I'm looking around for an rx for my funtana s40. Went to towers site an was looking around an seen the 127 has been discontinued. Then i went to the RCU.ADDS an every page has at least two or more 127's for sale. Is there something wrong with the 127? I had one in the past an it worked like a champ. Just wondering cause its a toss up with me between a 127 or a 168

You may have a look at Hobbico´s Command CR-7 receiver, it´s the same as Futaba 127DF, it is manufactured by the same Futaba´s manufacturer in Taiwan, Hitec does nice receivers as well, Supreme 8 is the same as Futaba 168DF.

Have my best regards.

There is nothing wrong with the 127DF's - its been around a while and they decided to replace it with a newer model.

At least the R168 no longer has the high band / low band models - its good for the entire range.

The tower hobbies system 3000 7-channel receiver is basically an R127 with a different label - even the FCC ID number is the same.

FMA also has a good RX that actually has a better capture range than Futaba.

I like my Hitec Supreme, never had any problems with Hitec recievers. All my servos check out flight ready every year when I have them check. Never had a jitter of any kind.

I have mixed Futaba and Hitec transmitters with 4 or 5 different brands of receivers with no problem. Nice thing about our narrow band equipment, not like the old days when you tuned the receiver to the transmitter you were using (and that goes back to my days with Heath kit 5 channel digital radios)

There's nothing wrong with the 127. According to Krysta (Futaba support at Hobby Services) it had been around for 20 years. I guess it was just time for a replacement.

Twenty years isn't right. If that were the case, it would have G, not J, connectors.

Not quite 20 years old, but pretty old - the FCC ID was granted on 11/07/1989 according to the FCC database, making it a little over 17 years since it was approved for sale. Probably took a year or two before that to design, test, and get approval, so may be nearly 20 years to Futaba.

Does anyone have an R168DF they can give me the FCC ID off the back of? I'd like to look it up sometime.
