That just goes to show you that the things we have *****ed about all these years, pointless modulation shift differances, Propriatary plugs and reversed charger polarity (in the case of JR) really has worked as we have been led around by the nose from our respective manufacturer.
But hey the walls are tumbling down and we are free at last!
No longer does any manufacturer dare market a decent computer radio with any hope for survival without modulation shift selection and plugs, well thats almost gone now and finally that just leaves JR who would dare deliberately cause you burned out fuses or worse for the evil act of using somebody else's wall charger.
Hey Geistware we really are free at last.

I voted Multiplex, but depending on the economy, could also go for another JR 10(X)....I like the built in memory in the thumb trims.

Hey Harry, I hear ya, but for me it is a 9ZAP... all I need so I didn't vote.
Exactly how many radios does one need? I've used one radio for years. I never have understood why some pilots have more transmitters than planes.

Hi guys.
I currently own a Sanwa RD6000 (since I started flying again in December). Was a silly choice, as I am now in need of an upgrade.
So far it appears that Futaba would be the best choice over JR, but am interested in knowing about the Multiplex, if anyone would like to brief me on its advantages.
Otherwise I guess its the Futaba 9C for me
Thanks

Polk's Tracker II
I have flown Futaba and Hitec for years. Now it's time for my first computer radio, and I've placed my order for the new Tracker II from Polk's Hobbies. Current expected ship date is early March - delays were caused by the battery manufacturer putting the wrong ends on, and now they are updating the software before release.

This radio works with any competitor's receiver (+ve & -ve shift), and the receiver works with any competitor's transmitter. Both are fully synthesized (no crystals) and can be switched to another channel without even removing the Rx from the plane (push-button on a wire). And the Tx scans the airwaves for interference (and other pilots) before it allows you to use a channel.

I like the idea of being able to replace my two 10X radios with a single RE. I'm going to wait a couple of months at least until Hitec/MPX get the supply chain issues sorted out.

I also have an old JR Galaxy which I believe was the 1st computer radio. It works very well even though the programming is more cryptic than the 10X series. Its also the old box shape which not even the low end transmitters have any more. Is anybody else still using their's?

I have been using Futaba for 20 years now. Never had even a radio glitch. Why change. In fact, I am ordering a 9CAP today so that I can now have 9 channels. Even their pricing is very good (for what you get). I'll admit, I do use some Hitec servo's in my setups, but you can't beat the TX and RX that Futaba makes. Good Luck!!!

Good question, but I can't answer. I'm waiting for Futaba to come out with a 10-12 channel with a little low-level programming capability or Multiplex to get their radios the packaging and USA support they deserve through Hitec. The winner in this race gets my money.

P.S. Could you imagine a radio with Multiplex programming power and Futaba ergonomics and support?

I have a Multiplex Profi mc3030. Right now, I really don't need a "next" radio. If I needed it then it would be a MPX 4000 or its successor.
