its a cheap servo, regularly with electronics, you will want to stick to name brands. I would just spend the money on a nice futaba or hitec, something along those lines. You get what you pay for.

True, was thinking on putting it in my brother in laws 1/8 Buggy, the servo has a lot of tourqe and isn't that slow....
Just as a steering servo....wouldn't dare put it as a gas/brake servo since I don't know how reliable it is.

Default RE: Your thoughts on this servo?

the price of a servo and the specs do not always tell a tale.
the servo in the example is somewhat like a JRSport 126- which sells for $33.00
3 pole, metal gears 7.2 volts capability etc.
When used with a 2.4 DX2 system- these are extremely smooth and quick and accurate and 140 in oz torque!
The digital servos we all use were developed to work well with the early 512 -then 1024 PCM systems
The 126 servo is notchy when used with a 512 (obsolete systm)- -as it simply follows the slow pulses
The 2.4 is like an old FM in that the steps (info) are very fast and the end result is a smooth relationship.
So - simply spending more may NOT get you less - just understand what you will be doing with the servo.
I have 8611A servos on down to 17 inch ounce stuff in various models and have compared these inexpensive servos with the best servos on the market . They are in my book , an incredible bargain.

I sure would like to get my hands on one of those servos to test. I don't think the 8611A is a very good servo. Its high torque cannot be used unless you are using it in a crane and are lifting weights or something.
How does it compare to the Hitec 5955?

Did you notice that shipping was @ $19 for EACH servo. 2 servos=$38 shipping 4 servos=$76 shipping
I'm not seeing a bargain here.

Well if you are going to buy just one for the steering, it's cheap. And atleast in my country customs tax you for the value of the goods, not the total amount as long as it is no more than 200SEK(goods value), that's about 25USD

That's e-bay. buy it cheap and make up the difference in shipping. Dennis
