Default Newbie to digital servos question

Is it normal that digital servos constantly make this jittering, squeeking sound even when I'm not moving the sticks... as if they are constantly trying to find the neutral point?

The sound scares me a little. I measured current draw (with the servos at rest), but it isn't excessive.

Or am I doing something wrong?

That is the sound of precision! It comes from the high refresh rate, 300 times per second compared to 30 times of an analog. It is normal.

I think they will...

It's just some brands of receivers that won't work with other brands of trannys... something to do with pulse lengths or something...

Digital servo's are for the most part (accepting a few quirky difference in rare circumstances) transparently replaceable with standard servo's. They use the same power and input signals.

The best thing about noisy digital servos is that its harder to leave your receiver on!

Hey RS2K...

You forgot to mention your 0.00000032 GAh battery is charged from a nuclear power plant!

LOL, actually the battery was made with the help of the largest fusion power house this side of the terminator. It's wrapped in plastic. As we all know, all plastic is formed from petroleum, which used to be plants and animals, which ultimately got their energy from the sun!

BTW, it's a .0000032 GAh battery. A .00000032 GAh battery would be waaaay too small with all those digital servos.

And I was just tonight helping my 13 year old daughter with her algebra homework (including scientific notation) and she said she would never use it in real life.
