What size wire should be used for the antenna wire on a rx?

Ignoring durability and strength, almost anything will work from 36 guauge to 16 gauge but; for all practical purposes, use 20 , 22, 24 or 28 gauge multistrand wire. most hobby shops carry replacement antenna wires. For most receivers, a length of 37 to 41 inches will work well, not real critical on length.

If you can find silver plated copper that would be best. It's usually only marginally more expensive than regular copper wire.
