Default voltage indicator problems - older futaba

Hello, i have a futaba attack-4 radio, radio works very well but the indicator only reads 80 not 100, even after a full charge, this is the second attack that does this, should i worry- has anyone else had this problem, any info would be very helpful, thanks....flyby50

Default RE: voltage indicator problems - older futaba

G'day Mate,
If it were my radio, I would cycle the TX battery, & determine that it has, in fact fully charged.
If it has not charged fully it could mean, either needs longer charging, or it needs a new battery, the cells are not able to take a full charge & hold it.

Situation normnal - those TX are calibrated on the standard dry TX with 8 X AA alkaline cells in use. Retrofitting or even buying a set with nicads will never register above 11.2V. remove the nicad/nimh pack and test with an 8 alkaline AA pack and you will see 100% registered on the meter.
