Default Plug into any open receiver slot!

What does that mean exactly?

would it work with a Y on a servo sharing a channel?

I'm talking about the Spectrum voltage protector

thanks, Vasek

yes
I DON'T THINK SO!

It's all right here:
Plug into any OPEN receiver slot!
But I bet that if you ask this question in the JR/Spektrum Support Forum, Danny can give you the straight answer.

Could give a good technical reason why the capacitor would not do the job if there was no open slot and you used a "Y" harness to connect it either to the ESC/BEC throttle connector or the battery connector[:-]

sorry Pete I didn't get your answer.

a battery can be connected via a Y harness into any "open" channel with a servo, since the battery has 2 "power" leads only therefore NOT affecting the signal wire for the servo function thus plugging into the "power circuit" only.

why wouldn't a capacitor work also like that?

It will work just as well Y'd in as it will with a dedicated port. The RX busses are all tied together internally and don't "SEE" a difference electronically.

What Bruce said.

Thats the same reason you can plug the battery into any open servo connector on the reciever or Y it to a servo if you need to.

Hi vasek,
I was asking Rafael23, why he thought it wouldn't
I'm with you, Bruce and BaracudaHockey.

No, I can't. I know what you guys say, but right there on the description of the capacitor, and most likely on it's literature it says OPEN slot on the receiver.

Anyway, why not ask the same question on the Spektrum Support Forum as I suggested? Anybody care to do that? Or are we going to just make assumptions when the horse's mouth is just a click away?

If you are thinking that this is for use on airborne Rx's then read this quote:

Status: offline It would not do anything in an airplane. It is designed for 1/12 scale cars that use 4 cell batteries to power them, and hence the BEC output of the ESC is low. They will not do anything or help anything in an aircraft.

I don't need to ask, an open end of a Y IS an open port as far as this device is concerned. Bother the manufacturers with REAL questions and NOT obvious ones. Electronically, there is NO difference. Agreed that it has no place in an aircraft, effect would be nil.
