12FG pricing question
So, if I buy a 72 MHz 12FG now at $999 then wait and buy the 2.4Ghz module/receiver combo the total is $1400.
If I buy the back ordered 2.4 GHz 12FG for $1199 which comes with a module/receiver...thats only an additional $200.
Why the price discrepency? How much would a 72 Mhz module run for the 12FG? I can't find one ANYWHERE to reference a price.

RE: 12FG pricing question
Just say it's 80-100 for the tx module and 300 for the 5014RX thats ~400.
1000 for 72m + 400 for 2.4g setup = 1400 for both 72m/2.4g TX and RX's
1200 for 2.4g + ~400 for 72m thats ~1600 for both 72m/2.4g TX and RX's
I would buy the 72 version and then buy the 2.4g conversion later.
This way I can use all my current stuff and expand into 2.4g as time-money permits.
I have the 14mz and will buy the 2.4g when it comes out, best of both worlds.
I will not buy the other 2.4g SS brands as I will not neuter the 14mz down to less channels, using 3-11 currently.
My thoughts are the Futaba 2.4g modules will increase the speed of the stick to servo movement to be
even faster in 2.4g/G3 mode(?). Going from my 9zhps to the 14mz the response was very noticable and I am no expert flyer.
This may make the 12/14MZ's the fastest on the market for latency hands down and with all the bells and whistles.
The more I dig into the 14mz menus, the more I find it is loaded with features I did not know existed, beyond my 9zhps.
I wish Futaba would create a manual like they did for the 9z series.
Just my thoughts,
Tony

RE: 12FG pricing question
I am trying to confirm or deny what I heard about using the 12FG with existing PCM RX. I am waiting for the 2.4 Ghz setup currently. I am not opposed to the 72 Mhz but need more functionality than my 9C can provide. For example I need all the channels on my 9C and 149DP PCM receiver to be fully capable of using all the available features such as ATV, Endpoint and so on. I have to resort to devices like the MSA-10 to get the job done.
Now here is the question:
If I buy the 12FG and use it with my 149 DP PCM receivers do I now gain the additional functionality that I am looking for or am I still limited to what I have with the 9C? I heard that using the new TX with the old RX will not give me what I am looking for.

RE: 12FG pricing question
I have the 14mz and use the following 127,149,3xx and 5014.
using the pcm 149,3xx RX's you only get 9-12 channels max and the extra funtionality is there but limited to only the channels you have.
using the 5x14 you get the 3 channel groups, you do not get this with the older pcm RX's.
The manual for the radios can be downloaded and examined so you can see the details. I will say the manual does not do the radio justice for its capabilities but it should answer most of your questions. It is ~21MB in size.
For exact answers go to the Futaba support and ask Bax, he has been helpfull every time I posted.

RE: 12FG pricing question
A couple of months ago I bought the 12FG from tower. They were giving a $25 gift certificate for buying the 12FG and $100 off for an order of $1000 or more. I bought a set of allen wrenches to put my $999 radio order over $1000.
Effectively I paid $875 for the 12FG. When I add the $400 module I will be up to 1275. That's just $75 more than the $1200 back order for the TX with the 2.4 gHz module.
I got both bands, and I have used the off season to set up my aircraft on the new system.
