Default Dx6 Range Problem- need help

I just purchased a dx6 used off of this website, and it came with the standard 6000 receiver. I plugged everything into my foamie and it was working fine. I go to do a range check and i get 10 ft from the aircraft and i loose control. If i push the bind button even if i'm right next to the receiver it doesn't respond at all. I've read every word in the manual and tried to rebind etc with no success... it should be "bound" if i am in control of the aircraft at all, correct? I think it may be an antenna or receiver issue. Or i'm hoping since i'm new to this i have missed something? Help please?

Yes if the rx works then it is bound. Are you sure the tx battery is fully charged, and that every cell in the pack is good? Have you tried turning on the rx first, then the tx? I know I get a more consistent bind that way. Sometimes I would have to wait a long time to get a bind when I turned the tx on first, and sometimes I would not get any response at all. Never had a range problem though, so I don't know. Does your tx have the voltage regulator mod? That could be a source of the problem if it does. There is a thread here about it.

Could try it with another receiver if you know anyone else who flies the dx6, then you would know if the problem is the tx or the rx.

alright friends, case closed. I found the place to attach the antenna wire back on, and it pops on kinda so it feels like it will stay without soddering... i don't know hwy it came off though... i think if you were to take out the antenna and pull on it hard it would pop off. Anyway happy ending this time.
