I fly Hitec, because of price, so I quess this is what I will vote for. But JR is my favorite with Airtronics being my least favorite.

For me it is Futaba... since I have had Great service from them including out of Warranty service at no charge due to a break in the hobby. I paid the UPS both ways and they updated and fixed the problem.
To Support when are your going to fix the autologout for us that run POPUP STOPPER... Please get it Fixed.... Thanks

I fly a JR 10X Air... and I really feel the diffrence! nice metal case (both front and back) it just feels high quality! it´s not the most flexible system out there as it only has a airplane mode (as I only fly airplanes that´s no problem for me... )
I don´t like a Tx which rattles if you shake it.... Gr MC24 has this snap in backplate which I don´t like (same as my old MC20 had) Multiplex may have a very free program, but, it´s hard to program and the design belongs in the 1970´s. (dunno about the EVO12 program though) Hitec and Airtronics/Sanwa have no pro system....
I never used a Futaba 9Z my self, so I can´t comment on the feel of it...

Henke,
I have done alot of reading on the new Multiplex's, and the programming seems very simple, you can d/l the manual for the Evo 12 at their site, and I think you will be greatly impressed by it's design and functions. I especially love the synthesized transmitter and recievers. NO MORE CRYSTALS. So, you can choose whatever channel is free at the field and fly it.

RE: VOTE! Airtronics-Futaba-Jr-Hitec
I started with Futaba (4VF) "upgraded" to a HiTec Eclipse. Got disgusted with that after not too long and I've been flying the 9C way ever since!
Chalk up another one for Futaba!
And when they start marketing their 12 channel, I'll snatch up a used 9Z for cheap!

I use JR. I must say that they are all so close anymore that it's just what you feel comfortable with. I really like the JR touch screen programming though.

Futaba from day 1 and no problems ever! Now have Futaba Conquest and T6XAs
However, I have to admit to really liking the feel of the Airtronics Gimbals----almost indecently smooth!

Good job he did his range tests otherwise it could have been more !
Rarely had a problem with .... JR Max series, JR Apex series, 347, 388, 642,652,662, phew !! 378, 3810, 3810 ADT, 9X, 10, 10SX, 10SXII, 10X and now the newest member to the family, the 2610.
Wonder if that implies that I follow JR ???

RE: VOTE! Airtronics-Futaba-Jr-Hitec
All the major brands: Futaba, JR, Hitec, Airtronics, Multiplex, etc., are reliable.
If your friend had a problem he either had a damaged radio or he was on a bad channel. You can look up countless threads on RCU about interference, range issues etc., with all kinds of radio gear. Did you know that just leaving your radio on with the antenna down can overheat the output transistor and cause bad range? This is true of all brands!!!
I don't condemn all Volvos just because my friend's starter was dead this morning!!! If you don't understand this please take up stamp collecting or basket weaving. Blanket statements slandering whole companies are ignorant.
This thread should be about preferences, not bashing brands.

JR!!! I have owned Futaba, JR, and Airtronics. I flew primarily Futaba until I checked out the ease of programability with the JR. After seeing the light I sold all of my Futaba gear lock, stock, and barrel.
Friends don't let friends fly Futaba!!!

Though I never have and NEVER will fly Futaba; it is a leader in the radio control market today.. I first attended the 1977 'Toledo show' representing RS Radio Systems systems Inc.- As I recall I got away from the booth and while viewing the vast crowd ahead of me spotted America's leading radio manufacture, Kraft systems Inc., with Futaba directly across the isle--To me at least, the writing was on the wall, so as to speak the "imported" radio offered more features equal or better quality and at "lower prices" than Kraft and Proline (to name a few U.S.manufactures) thus spelling the end for made in America radios. I like most other flers during the early 1980s made the switch to an imported radio. So.........I give my vote to Airtronics But will be purcashing A JR shortly

FUTABA
I've been using Futaba radios for twenty years + and had no problems with any of them.
Just bought a new 9CA but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

RE: RE: VOTE! Airtronics-Futaba-Jr-Hitec
I wonder if the price of the radio has any influence on the decision to purchase?
If so, then the final count should come out;
#1- Hitec
#2- Futaba
#3- Airtronics
#4- JR
#5- Multiplex
I didn't list out of date or relatively new manufacturers such as Kraft, which in it's time would have been in the upper price range, or the newer Polk, that is short on track record, but long in the business.
