Default DX7 bearing mod, greasing bearings?

Hey guys, my DX7 throttle stick bushings are finally giving some play, I've been using it everyday for quite some time now, even on the sim.

Noticed the throttle stick felt sloppy, something not right. Thought it was the tensioner plate but checked it and still lots of grease on it and the fuel tube looked fine. Looked at the axle going into the bushing and yep, some play.

I've rotated the brass bushings and greased them for now which seems to have made them better, but it's only temporary.

Looking to get this set of bearings here:

What grease do I need for them and how do you have to apply it? There's a special bearing greaser tool but do I really need it?

Thank you.

all you need for lube of this type of bearing is Vasolene [ petrolium jelly ] this is what i have used on fishing reel bearings for many years and these bearings turn alot higher rpm than the transmitter bearing could ever do , something like revs per year. if these new bearings are sealed at both sides you just leave them but if they have to be greased you just place some of the vas on your finger and push it into each side of the bearings until you feel theres enough in , then wipe excess off before fitting.

Thanks for your reply.

Doesn't Vasolene have water in, surely that wouldn't be good for ball bearings?

So it's okay to apply grease with your fingers? I was thinking perhaps pushing the bearing against the grease on a smooth clean surface.
